For the last three decades we have been strengthening families with disabled children across the UK by providing advice and information and putting them in touch with others for support. We have also campaigned for better rights for families, but the campaign goes on.

Throughout our anniversary year - April 2009 to March 2010 - we had a series of events and publications planned to mark the occasion. We wanted to celebrate our achievements as well as take the opportunity to raise awareness of some of the many issues for families with disabled children.

Here are some of the highlights:

May
To mark the launch of our anniversary we published a new report, What Makes My Family Stronger to raise awareness of what life is like raising a child with a disability.

November
In November we published Our Family, Our Future and hosted parliamentary events in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, bringing families together with politicians to raise awareness of the issues they face and help affect change. Our Family, Our Future features the stories and photographs of 30 UK families with disabled children, highlighting their hopes, aspirations and fears for the future.
