Broncho Pulmonary Dysplasia

Background

Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) is a condition which occasionally occurs in premature infants who have needed respiratory support from a ventilator. It is more common the more immature the baby and is more likely to occur in babies who have required ventilation because of lung immaturity or in association with infections.
