Hypospadias

Background

In hypospadias, the urethral opening, normally situated at the tip of the glans penis, is located somewhere on the under side of the penis. In mild cases, on the glans itself and, in more severe cases, at some point along the penile shaft.

Hypospadias is one of the most common congenital deformities, affecting approximately 1 in 200 new born boys.
