Liver disease

Background

There are about one hundred different liver diseases and conditions which may occur. Some are genetic, some viral, but for many they occur for no apparent reason and are often life-threatening, serious conditions. Some of these diseases and conditions are confined to adults or are very uncommon in childhood.
