Turcot syndrome: Association of multiple polyps of the colon and a primary tumour of the Central Nervous System

Turcot syndrome was first described by Drs Turcot, Despré and St. Pierre in 1959. Turcot syndrome is a very rare inherited disorder of tumours of the brain and colon. The syndrome affects people of both sexes and all ethnic groups and presents in childhood and adolescence. Approximately one hundred and fifty cases are known to medical literature.
