This page gives details of the costs to subscribe to the three different versions of The Contact a Family Directory available. The 'Contact a Family Directory - The essential guide to medical conditions, disabilities and support' contains patient friedly information for children and adults with disabilities, serious health conditions and rare disorders.
Paperback versionA paperback version of the Contact a Family Directory is published every year. The 2008 edition was published on 10th April 2008. Copies cost £40. For orders completed before 31st October 2008, buy the Directory and get a free copy of the Disability Rights Handbooks, while stocks last. Terms and conditions apply.
Website versionThe website version of The Contact a Family Directory is updated throughout the year. Access to the website version is free of charge for families. Families can view a maximum of five different conditions per six month period. Families needing to access more than five condition entries can ring the Helpline on Tel: 0808 808 3555. For unlimited access to the online version of the Directory there is a subscription fee. How much does subscription cost? An annual subscription to the online version of the Contact a Family Directory costs £15 + VAT per user, and can be purchased via our shop Please note that a "User" is restricted to the last PC they logged on from: you cannot log on from elsewhere without your account being manually reset by Contact a Family. If this is likely to restrict you then you may be better off purchasing the paperback or CD-ROM version. What is involved/How do you record how many visits I have made? The system we use to manage subscription and accesses utilises a secure database and cookies. The database stores your subscribed username - typically an e-mail address - as well as what type of subscription you have and the expiry date of your subscription. The database is secured and only authorised staff members can access it. Your contact information (which we do not pass to anyone else) is not stored on our web server for security reasons but at our offices. To ensure you have smooth subscription and only have to login once we utilise cookies. Cookies are small text files placed on your computer.
