Family Workers

Contact a Family Ealing can help by:

  • Offering information, advice and support to parents and carers of children with any special need or disability as well as professionals working with families
  • Giving advice on specific issues such as education, welfare rights, housing and social services. We are also able to assist parent carers with any correspondence, grant and benefit applications and liaison with other organisations.
  • Offering access to a well-stocked library covering specific disabling conditions and syndromes, current legislation and details of national and local support networks for parent carers. We also provide free access to the Internet for any parent member.
  • Holding "Parent-Link" drop-in sessions during term time to which guest speakers are invited. In addition we run support groups on particular issues such as transition and rare syndromes. All provide an opportunity to talk to other parents, share ideas and information and meet relevant professionals. We can also link you with other families in the UK via our National Helpline.

Debt advice in London

Contact a Family has entered into a pilot project with Citizens Advice Bureau to improve the supply of face to face debt advice to families with disabled children. The Greater London area is one of the pilot areas in which the new service has started. There are seven workers based in Camden CAB who offer advice and help for families with disabled children anywhere in the Greater London area. They will arrange to visit you at home anywhere in London. If you would like to make an appointment, please call the Contact a Family helpline on 0808 808 3555 and we will arrange an appointment for you.
