Relationships - we’ve all done it. After sorting out the finances, kids, work and everything else in between, we sometimes forget the effect that everyday pressure has on enjoying quality time with our partner or our family. If you have a disabled child, family life is different to that of other families. Factors such as a lack of support and isolation may affect you more, and this can impact on your day-to-day relationships leading to stresses and strains, and for some a breakdown of the relationship.

We spoke to parents to find out what type of workshops would help strengthen their family relationships. Top of the list was dealing with stress, and often parents would raise concerns about the relationships of siblings of disabled children. For this reason, we are developing a series of workshops that will address these issues and more.
