Relationships - we’ve all done it. After sorting out the finances, kids, work and everything else in between, we sometimes forget the effect that everyday pressure has on enjoying quality time with our partner or our family. If you have a disabled child, family life is different to that of other families. Factors such as a lack of support and isolation may affect you more, and this can impact on your day-to-day relationships leading to stresses and strains, and for some a breakdown of the relationship.

Don’t wait until it’s too late - check out our online service

Family life is so busy and you don’t always have spare time. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone about an issue that's affecting you or your family. Don’t wait until it’s too late to seek support! We've teamed up with RELATE to offer you free online access to their consultants. Read more about our new service here.

Workshops for parents

We spoke to parents to find out what type of workshops would help strengthen their family relationships. Top of the list was dealing with stress, and often parents would raise concerns about the relationships of siblings of disabled children. For this reason, we are developing a series of workshops that will address these issues and more.
Find workshops currently taking bookings in your area:

Our workshops will help you to:

  • explore the issues that concern you
  • consider how they impact on your family
  • explore ways to manage the issue and the support that is available
