The following is a list of some of the local parent support groups in the West Midlands region. These groups have all given permission for their details to be included on our website. Codsall Special Needs Support Group
Parent support group for families where there is a disabled / special needs child.
They organise family trips and outings during the summer holidays and some activities in the other school breaks. They also offer monthly get-togethers for parents and carers. For more details please contact Barbara on 01902 844216
Cofton Carers Support Group
Support for families in South Birmingham with children with a disability or long term illness. Provide social support and have invited speakers to their meetings on a range of both caring and non caring issues.

Provide support to young people, parents/carers, teachers and professionals with an interest in dyslexia. The Helpline advises and supports children and their families up to age 19 in full time education. They offer presentations on dyslexia to schools and organisations, for a nominal fee. Dyslexia screening is also available to both adults and children for a fee of £50.00.

Advice from specialists in field and signposting to their services. Group runs a seven week course aimed at parents exchanging advice, guidance, knowledge and experiences of dealing with a family member with Dyslexia and working with schools to get correct support. Course includes: Understanding dyslexia, How to deliver a multi-sensory literacy programme, Play, Understanding Educational Psychologist jargon. Private tuition and screening is also available.

A parent support group where parents can gain tips and advice in a friendly, supportive atmosphere .Helpline via email or phone. There is also a children's trampolining club run by Helen Lippitt 07974846961(not Tuesdays please). Children can come along and make friends with other children who face the same daily challenges.
Hansel and Gretel Support Group
A registered charity providing mutual support and friendship to disabled and special-needs children and their families in the Wyre Forest Area. Provides support by telephone and letter. A newsletter and information about the condition is available. They work closely with Bristol Children’s Hospital who are running a regular long term clinic under Dr Rob Tulloh (Paediatric Cardiologist) with input from a paediatrician with an interest in other aspects of the condition.
Little Oaks Special Needs Children's Club
We are a club that offers a variety of activities for children with special needs and their siblings; these include craft activities, cookery, plenty of toys, and also a secure outdoor play area. We arrange frequent outings to local parks, farms and activity centres. We meet on Saturday mornings 11.00am to 1.00pm in Bromsgrove. Provides support to families in the Malvern and Worcester areas of South
Worcestershire, who have children with additional needs. Main areas of work are family support, quarterly newsletter and play opportunities. A Holiday Play scheme for young people aged between 5 and 19 years runs during all school holidays, as well as Saturday Clubs & Youth Groups in Malvern & Worcester each meeting once a month on a Saturday from 10.30 - 3pm. The 4's Company Youth Group meets fortnightly on Wednesday evening, 6.30-8.30pm in Malvern & Worcester. Charges: Saturday Clubs £5, Holiday Play schemes £18 (10am-3pm), 4's Company £2.

A support group for children with language communication delay and non specific disability. The Phoenix Communication group offers a small group the opportunity to develop language through songs and rhymes, play and snack time. A speech therapist and other professionals participate in the session. The group meets weekly on Wednesdays during school term time at 1pm.
