Provide support to young people, parents/carers, teachers and professionals with an interest in dyslexia. The Helpline advises and supports children and their families up to age 19 in full time education. Drop-in sessions are held on the first Tuesday of the month, at the Centre for the Child, Birmingham Central Library, 4.30pm-7pm. They also offer presentations on dyslexia for a nominal fee to schools and organisations.

Main areas of work are family support, quarterly newsletter, family events and pamper sessions; and play opportunities. A Holiday Club for young people aged between 4 and 19 years runs during all school holidays, as well as Saturday Club, Family Club and a Youth Club, each meeting once a month on a Saturday. The 4's Company Youth Group meets fortnightly on Wednesday evening, 6.30-8.30pm in Worcester. Each young person is supported by a 'buddy'. Provides home-based respite care/domiciliary care to families who care for dependents with severe learning disabilities. Short term holiday care - in certain circumstances the dependant may be cared for in his/her own home by Care Attendants working on a 24 hour basis. Saturday club for both children and adults held at Portland House, Wednesbury, 11am-4pm each week. Carers Support-Coffee Mornings are held each month for parents and carers. Office staff are also available to give advice.
Shropshire Autistic Supporters

A Shropshire based charity run primarily by parents/carers for autistic persons. They organise regular events and social gatherings, e.g. cinema visits, adventure playgrounds, music events, swimming sessions as well as occasional trips and talks for parents. They have a discussion group whose aim is to help, support, inform and befriend families who are affected by ASD in the Shropshire Area. They have bi-monthly meetings with speakers from services such as Learning Support, Occupational Therapy and Child Development Workers offering support and useful tips to help parents/carers with their children. Membership is free but a £6.00 subscription fee is required for postal delivery of monthly newsletter.
