Our volunteer parent representatives are all parents of disabled children and offer peer support and local signposting.
Our freephone helpline can give you information, support and advice.Our advisers can help with:
* benefits or tax credits issues
* assessments and statements of special educational needs
* details of local parents support groups
* information about your child's condition
* how to access help with getting a break from caring
* details of charities which give grants to families with disabled children
* advice and information on any other aspect of caring for a disabled child
* the helpline has a registered immigration adviser who can give basic advice in immigration matters.

Contact a Family has entered into a pilot project with Citizens Advice Bureau to improve the supply of face to face debt advice to families with disabled children. Sheffield and Rotherham are two of the pilot areas in which the new service has started. It offers home visits for families. Contact our helpline on 0808 808 3555 to make an appointment.
Contact a Family has entered into a pilot project with Citizens Advice Bureau to improve the supply of face to face debt advice to families with disabled children. Bradford is one of the pilot areas. This project is not currently able to offer home visits for families, although the service will provide this in the future. Appointments can be made to see the debt adviser, at Bradford CAB.
