Anaphylaxis

What are the symptoms?

The symptoms and signs of anaphylaxis may include one or more of: wheezing, vomiting, hives, facial swelling, abdominal pain, a feeling of impending doom, and ultimately hypotension (lowered blood pressure) with cardiorespiratory compromise. Symptoms may progress rapidly and unpredictably if treatment is not quickly administered. It is, however, reassuring that most food-induced allergic reactions are of a mild or moderate nature and do not progress to anaphylaxis.
