The group is a National Registered Charity No. 1073297, established in 1993, having started informally in 1988, which offers support to families and adults affected by AIS and other XY-female conditions. It holds group meetings, runs an online news group to keep members up to date on items of interest, publishes a newsletter 'ALIAS - Learning About AIS' and has other information available, such as details of recommended specialist clinicians. The group is in touch with several hundred affected families/individuals in the UK and has sister groups in other countries.
