Bloom syndrome
How is it diagnosed?
A diagnosis of Bloom syndrome can be confirmed or eliminated by a chromosome test in which the characteristic pattern of breakage or rearrangement in the chromosome is identified. Carrier status of people in the Ashkenazi Jewish population can be investigated by a blood test which can identify almost all carrier individuals.
