CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood) joined with Sargent Cancer Care for Children to become CLIC Sargent, National Registered Charity No. 1107328. CLIC Sargent provides support to children and young people (up to age 25) with cancer and leukaemia and their families through: clinical and care professionals (specialist nurses, social workers, youth workers and play specialists to provide care, support and advocacy to children and young people with cancer and their families in hospital and at home); homes from home (homes allowing parents, children and siblings to stay together near the hospital); holidays (free opportunities for families to take a break from treatment in supported settings); care grants (grants to help families cope financially); and research (research projects working to identify causes and treatments of childhood cancer and also looking at managing the many side effects that treatment impose on children which can have significant impact on their future lives).

The Trust is National Registered Charity No. 1062559, established in 1997. It focuses on the particular needs of UK teenagers and young adults with cancer, leukaemia, Hodgkin’s and related diseases. The Charity designs and builds dedicated adolescent cancer units in hospitals. It funds and organises support and information services for patients, their families, schools and health professionals.

The CCLG is a national professional body responsible for the organisation of the treatment and management of children with cancer in the UK. The Group’s main remit is the co-ordination of national and international clinical trials, including biological studies. Other areas of activity include production of a range of information materials for patients and families, also found on the CCLG website, including ‘Contact’, a quarterly, free magazine for families of children and young people with cancer.

The National Alliance of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisations (NACCPO) is a National Registered Charity No.1090871, established in 1999. It is an umbrella group which has 36 member groups around the UK supporting children and young adults with cancer and their families. NACCPO acts as a ‘voice’ for the families of children and young people with cancer advising charities and medical bodies on the needs of those affected by such a diagnosis, advocates for better facilities at treatment centres and helps to set up parent-run support groups. NACCPO also offers help and advice to families who do not belong to a support group and who may be in need of information and support such as where to find holidays, wish-granting charities and access to grants.

The Forum is a National Registered Charity No. 1109213, established in 2001. The Forum works to raise awareness of the rarer cancers to health professionals and the general public. It also aims to improve services and reduce isolation in affected individuals.
