Sensory and Autonomic Neuropathies - HSAN Type IV
HSAN IV is also known as Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and Anhidrosis (absence of sweating). It is present at birth and there is an absence of identifiable pain-conducting nerve fibres in peripheral nerves, and in their connections to spinal cord. The clinical features are similar to HSAN Type II, except that learning disability is the rule.

Inheritance patterns
Autosomal recessive.

Prenatal diagnosis
This is possible. The gene change in HSAN Type IV is NTRK1 on Chromosome 1q21-q22
