Duane Retraction syndrome

How is it treated?

Treatment of the condition is aimed at achieving straight eyes when an individual looks straight ahead. If there is an unsightly narrowing of the eye, then surgery to relax the eye muscles may help. It is unlikely to make the eye movements normal but where there is a cosmetic problem, improvement can usually be achieved.

There a number of other clinical features which may be associated with DRS including hearing problems (see entry, Deafness), spinal and skeletal abnormalities.
