The Association is a National Registered Charity No. 289243. It offers support for families and adults through its helpline and its local groups throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It runs conferences, seminars and workshops for parents, adults, teachers and other professionals covering aspects of dyslexia at any age. It publishes a magazine 'Dyslexia Contact' three times a year and an International Journal of Research and Practice 'Dyslexia' quarterly. Previously The Dyslexia Institute, it is the UK’s leading provider of services and support for people with dyslexia and literacy difficulties. We specialises in assessments, teaching and training. We also develop and distribute teaching materials and undertake research. Dyslexia Action is committed to improving public policy and practice. We partner with schools, LEAs, colleges, universities, employers, voluntary sector organisations and Government to improve the quality and quantity of help for people with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties. Dyslexia Scotland is a Registered Charity No. SC000951, established in 1968. It offers advice, information and support to people with dyslexia and operates a national tutor list. It conducts screening tests for both children and adults and workplace assessments. It organises workshops, conferences and seminars to raise awareness of dyslexia and attempts to influence the educational policy of both central and local government.
