Evans syndrome
How is it treated?
Treatment involves medication (steroids or other immunosuppressives) and possibly surgical intervention such as a splenectomy (removal of the spleen). Children with the syndrome need to be monitored carefully after a splenectomy as there appears to be an increased risk of sepsis (infection) in some children.
