The Society is a National Registered Charity No. 1001307, established in 1990. It offers support to individuals and families, and contact where possible. It provides a helpline, a handbook to members, publishes a quarterly newsletter and has information available, details on request. The Society promotes greater knowledge of the condition among medical professionals and the public, and supports research into haemochromatosis.
