Leber's Congenital Amaurosis

How is it treated?

A few children may see slightly better with hypermetropic (thick) glasses. However, there is considerable variation as this is not one disorder.

Gene therapy, with the goal of at least stabilising any residual vision, may be a possibility in the not too distant future for the small number of children with the RPE65 genotype.
