Li-Fraumeni syndrome

Inheritance patterns and prenatal diagnosis

Inheritance patterns
In LFS inheritance is autosomal dominant. Families known to be at risk should seek genetic advice.

Prenatal diagnosis
This is possible by chorionic villus sampling (CVS) or amniocentesis if the mutation is identified in a family but requires careful genetic counselling.
