Liver disease

How is it treated

Treatment of childhood liver disease will depend upon the actual condition. Through greater knowledge of the biochemical and molecular activities of the liver there have been spectacular advances in treatments available. Not only has this improved the outcome for young people, but their quality of life is also better. Liver transplantation has revolutionised the management of liver disease with long term survivals of more than eighty-five per cent.
