Mitochondrial Cytopathies and related disorders

What are the symptoms?

One of the characteristic features of these conditions is the very variable clinical presentation and outlook for each individual patient. Mitochondrial cytopathies can involve either one tissue alone, such as muscle, or several different tissues. In addition, the outlook for each individual patient will depend upon the organs involved and the severity of the defect.
