Paget Disease

What are the causes?

Normally, bone tissue is renewed continuously by a process of being broken-down and generated over the course of an individual's life. This process is maintained by a complex series of metabolic processes. In Paget disease, the metabolic equilibrium is upset. As a result, newly formed bone is thicker and yet softer than normal, causing weight bearing bones to bend.
