Paget Disease

Inheritance patterns and prenatal diagnosis

Inheritance patterns
The precise cause of Paget disease remains unknown. However, genetic factors are thought to be involved. There is a large genetic component in cases of familial Paget disease but this is very uncommon. When familial Paget disease does occur it tends to occur in younger (less than forty years) age groups.

Prenatal diagnosis
Not available.
