Usher Services belongs to the National Acquired Deafblind Team, which is part of Sense, a National Registered Charity No. 289268. They are in contact with people with Usher syndrome, their family, friends and interested professionals. They work directly with Usher people and their families and liaise with schools, social services and hospitals as appropriate, via Sense Regional staff as required. They run training courses about Usher syndrome for the staff of schools, social services, hospitals and other organisations, and also for firms and organisations which have Usher employees. They have around 800 Usher contacts. The Hearing and Sight Impaired UK (HSI UK) group, a branch of Sense, is a social and support group for hearing aid users with Usher or similar types of acquired deafblindness. Usher Services produces a wide range of information on Usher. Details about all information and services are available on request or via the website. Professionals should send a SAE or e-mail requests for information.
