Xeroderma Pigmentosum

Inheritance pattterns and prenatal diagnosis

Inheritance patterns
It is inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern.

Prenatal diagnosis
This can be performed by amniocentesis. For some families earlier and more reliable results can be achieved with molecular genetic methods by performing chorionic villus sampling.
