The Contact a Family Directory - The essential guide to medical conditions, disabilities and support contains patient friendly information for children and adults with disabilities, serious health conditions and rare disorders. The Contact a Family Directory is available in two different formats – paperback and online.
The paperback version of the Contact a Family Directory is updated throughout the year and published every two years. The 2011/12 edition which is available now to buy in paperback for £40, including post and packaging.
At present, you can view five conditions for free in a six-month period. Usually we would ask professionals to pay a small amount for unlimited access but please see below for new arrangements.

We are pleased to announce that the Contact a Family Directory online will be free when we move over to our new website, which is due this June.
Up until our new website goes online, you will need to be registered to get unlimited access, for example if you a professional wanting to look at many conditions. Please call 0207 608 8700 and speak to Natalie Adams to register your details. As we will be offering the Directory for free very soon, there will be no charge to register.

A 'User' is restricted to the last PC they logged on from: you cannot log on from elsewhere without your account being manually reset by Contact a Family.
What is involved/How do you record how many visits I have made?
The system we use to manage subscription and accesses utilises a secure database and cookies.
The database stores your subscribed username - typically an e-mail address - as well as what type of subscription you have and the expiry date of your subscription. The database is secured and only authorised staff members can access it. Your contact information (which we do not pass to anyone else) is not stored on our web server for security reasons but at our offices.
To ensure you have smooth subscription and only have to login once we utilise cookies. Cookies are small text files placed on your computer. More information about how and why we use cookies can be found on our Legal page.
