Long term conditions – working together conference
Date: Wednesday 8th October
Venue: Stormont Hotel, Belfast
Time: 10am
Description: Conference organised by the Department of Health, Social Service and Public Safety and the Long Term Conditions Alliance Northern Ireland (an umbrella group for voluntary groups working with people with long term conditions). Key themes will include the involvement of patients and users in the shaping of services, the promotion of self management, and promoting better understanding and cooperation between the statutory and voluntary sectors.
Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum
Date: Friday 24th of October 2008

Location: Dungannon Teachers Centre
Description: The Northern Ireland Anti-Bullying Forum explores how parents/carers and children/young people can guide future anti-bullying priorities. Aimed at organisations who facilitate or support a parent/carer group or children/young people's group who also give advice and guidance to children and families on issues such as bullying.
CAUSE for Mental Health Conference
Date: Thursday 30th October 2008

Location: Belfast Harbour Office
This year's CAUSE Conference theme will be on ‘We Need to Talk’, focusing on communication, primarily between carers, mental health service users and health professionals. Speakers will include John Redican from the Irish Advocacy Network, Professor Roy McClelland, Chair of the Bamford Review of Mental Health, and Dr Tess Maginess from Queens University. The event will also feature the CAUSE Annual General Meeting, lunch and an afternoon workshop.
