We are committed to helping parents work with professionals to improve the local services (health, education and social care) their children need.
Over the last ten years we have supported the development of Parent Participation and Parent Carer Forums across England. Professionals are increasingly involving parents in shaping children’s services because they recognise it benefits everyone and can lead to a better use of time and money.

Contact a Family are being funded by the Department for Education to provide a range of support for parent carer forums in England including a grant program , parent participation advisors and regional events.
Contact a Family are being funded by the Department of Health to support parent carers involvement in health, linked to the changes currently being made to the way the NHS runs.
If you aren't a member of the forum -find out more from your local branch about how they can help. Contact details are available here
Through our work we have supported the development of regional networks of parent carer forums across England so parent forums are able to meet with each other to share experiences and good practice. These meetings inform parent forums which helps them when working with professionals to improve services in their own local area.
The regional networks feed into the National Network of Parent Carer Forum, providing a united and powerful voice of parents of disabled children.
The National Network of Parent Carer Forum’s website can be found on www.nnpcf.org.uk
